Why we built Meridian Capital.

“We don’t think India’s best days are behind it. We just don’t think your wealth should depend on one market, one currency, or one decade.”

We met as undergraduates and have been friends ever since. Both of us later moved to the United States for our MBAs: Harsh Jain at Babson College, where he specialised in quantitative finance, and Harsh Bothra at Georgetown University. We worked in American finance, across investment banking and capital markets, M&A and corporate development, and at the World Bank.

American investors think globally by default. Their portfolios cross borders and their advisers plan in more than one currency.

When we went to invest our own savings, almost every option in front of us was Indian. The few routes abroad were apps built for trading, not planning. Nobody would tell us how much of our wealth should be global, in what, and why.

So we built it. International investing from India should start with a plan, not an app. Meridian Capital pairs a US-trained, quantitative way of building portfolios with an Indian understanding of family, goals and regulation.

Harsh Jain

Co-founder

MBA, Quantitative Finance · Babson College (Boston, USA)

Built his career across both sides of US capital markets, listed and private. In equity research, he covered a wide span of US-listed companies across sectors, building the valuation work behind institutional investment decisions. He went on to manage billions of dollars in assets, and in a corporate advisory role worked on acquisitions. At Meridian, he brings that institutional discipline to every client portfolio.
